The Safe Blood Transfusion Project (SBTP) was launched on digital by Spectrum in partnership with the government of Germany and the National Health Services of Pakistan. A process to educate and train 10 Regional Blood Centers (RBC), 6 Blood Transfusion Authorities (BTA), and the SBTP itself on digital. Spectrum also provided the initial impetus for digital marketing on owned and paid channels for Blood Donor Mobilization for the RBCs.

SPECTRUM CO-CREATED CONTENT AND DIRECTLY MANAGED THE WEB AND SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS FOR THE SBTA, 6 PROVINCIAL BTAS, AND RBCS.

Spectrum delivered a seminar on digital marketing to RBCs in the field. Each RBC was then given digital tools and online guidance to help them achieve their social media marketing goals. Teams from Spectrum visited RBCs in Karachi, Jamshoro, Sukkur, Bahawalpur, Multan, Quetta, Peshawar, Gilgit and Muzaffarabad. Each center served a network of hospitals and blood banks that also benefited from the trainings. Spectrum provided consultations and follow-up help with 6 months of remote learning. Capacity building of blood banks on content creation, and community engagement laid the groundwork for follow-up training in which Spectrum introduced and implemented the Facebook Blood Donation Feature.

Pakistan was one of the first few nations to pilot a new feature on Meta. The Facebook Blood Donation Feature project was conceptualized, developed, and implemented in collaboration with Spectrum. Pakistanis on Facebook can list their blood type and respond to verified appeals for donations from certified blood banks. Spectrum had a team at SBTP that was directly responsible for the handling of whitelisting and onboarding requests from blood banks around the country for the implementation and optimization of the Facebook Blood Donation Feature. The team at SBTP also worked on capacity building of blood banks to digitalize their operations.

Over the course of one year, Spectrum co-managed content creation for the SBTP and directly managed the official social media platforms for the client. We planned and initiated the donor mobilization programs to inculcate voluntary blood donations across our country. To achieve this, we delivered content and developed 11 of the client’s websites for centers across Pakistan. Spectrum built awareness at the local level with BCC messages for Blood Donor Mobilization via SMS Marketing.
